A Non-Permanent Magnet DC-Biased Vernier Reluctance Linear Machine with Non-Uniform Air Gap Structure for Ripple Reduction

Thrust ripple and density greatly impact the performance of linear machine other actuators, causing positioning control precision, dynamic performance, efficiency issues. Generalized pole-pair combinations are difficult to satisfy both thrust for double salient reluctance machines. In this paper, a DC-Biased vernier (DCB-VRLM) is proposed solve abovementioned The key design reduce enhance with non-uniform teeth by utilizing optimizing modulated flux in air gap. To effectively verify design, DCB-VRLMs different winding pole pairs secondary poles compared. 12-slot/10-pole combination chosen adopt gap structure. Moreover, energy distribution AC/DC studied optimized further DCB-VRLM. results indicate that DCB-VRLM has lower ripple, better overload capability, higher density, which confirms its superiority long-stroke rail transit vertical elevator applications.
